Registered Dental Hygenist
"Going to the dentist can make anyone anxious, so while our patients might not arrive with a smile, Vanessa's job at Horizon Dental is to make sure they leave with one.
As office manager, she is their first and last contact and loves getting to know them personally. She takes calming any fears seriously. Sometimes just a happy demeanor, a smile, a joke or answering questions will do wonders at making a patient more comfortable.
When not at the front desk, you can find her and her children at the beach walking their beloved Bruno, Bijon/Shi-Tzu breed."
Gabriela is the first person to see our new patients for their initial cleanings. For the last five years, our lead hygienist, Gabriela (“Gabby”), has been the one to establish an expectation of gentleness and comfort as she skillfully cleans and polishes teeth and removes sometimes stubborn plaque.
Gabriela is just as kind and pleasant as her photo suggests and with eight years of experience, Gabriela is very knowledgeable in all aspects of dentistry. Not only is she compassionate toward individual needs but she firmly believes that simply taking the time to educate and talk over options greatly alleviates any anxiety caused by the unknown.
After studying at Mount Ida College and Bristol Community College, Gabriela graduated in 2008 with a degree in Health Science and Dental Hygiene, and continues to further her education by taking CE courses each year to stay on top of the most current guidelines.
Her ongoing compassion continues on after work as she enjoys her friends, family, dog Coco and cat Sunny.
Lead Dental Assistant
One rarely associates joy and dentistry in the same breath but Marie is an exception.
As the lead dental assistant at Horizon for the last five years, it’s hard not to be inspired by her joyful work. Patients appreciate her authentic pleasure in getting to know them and eagerness in helping them any way she can.
According to Marie, "I love my job because even though each one of our patients is unique, all are so grateful when we are able to solve even the smallest of their problems.” Beyond her patients, Marie also loves cats, the color blue and pasta -- but not necessarily in that order.
